WEB Sander Dekker, the former Dutch Minister for Legal Protection, has returned home after spending several weeks in the hospital following a serious cycling accident. The 47-year-old was involved in a crash in the dune area near Monster, South Holland, on June 24, 2022. He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, including a fractured skull and a broken pelvis.

Dekker served as Minister for Legal Protection from 2017 to 2022

Dekker is a member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). He served as Minister for Legal Protection in the third Rutte cabinet from 2017 to 2022. He was responsible for a number of high-profile cases, including the prosecution of war criminals and the investigation into the MH17 disaster.

Dekker has said he will not be a part of the new cabinet

In an interview with the Telegraaf newspaper, Dekker said he would not be a part of the new cabinet. He said he was "proud" of what he had achieved as Minister for Legal Protection, but he felt it was time for a new challenge.
